On my last trip to Disneyland my husband and I booked the “paint the night dining package”. I was so excited to have these reservations as paint the night is my favourite parade at Disney!
Everyone knows, one of the down falls of watching a show at Disney is finding your perfect viewing spot roughly two hours before the show starts. It can be very challenging especially when you have children involved. My best tactic is to pick a spot and do the switch off with my husband until it’s time for the show to start. One of us hunkers down in our spot while the other takes kids on rides or gathers food. Believe me when I say you need to plan to watch the shows otherwise you will miss out. Spots get taken very quickly and if you try to “wing it” it never works out. So having this dining reservation is a huge time saver.
For this dining reservation you needed to check in an roughly an hour before the start time. The price for this was $79 US per adult. We were required to prepay this with our credit card to hold our reservation. I would also recommend doing this as soon as possible, as the reservations become available 60 days prior to your trip date.
Regarding the menu, each adult is given a choice wine/beer ( up to two alcoholic beverages per person). As soon as you sit down you will receive a basket of bread and your drink order will be taken. Following that each person is given there very own charcuterie plate. This plate was pack full of deliciousness. Sliced Genoa salami, apple wood smoked ham, prosciutto, manchego cheese, basil marinated pearlini mozzarella, jack cheese, charred broccolini, grilled zucchini, roasted bell peppers, Olives and red grapes.
Once you receive your charcuterie plate you just sit back and watch the magic happen. Paint the night is an amazingly magical parade. I had the pleasure of watching it during the Disney 60th anniversary celebrations. When Disney announced that paint the night would be returning for Pixar fest I was so excited. The music is so catching, so fun and each float is visually spectacular. In my personal experience no parade compares to this one. My favourite floats are definitely tinkerbell and the cars ones 😍 I love how Tink kicks off the parade flying back and forth.
When the parade is over you will be given an adorable box of paint the night chocolates, and then you are free to go off and enjoy the rest of your night. I had a great time doing this dining package with my husband however in my personal opinion I find it kind of pricy. After the exchange and with the Canadian dollar being low right now it works out to roughly 100$ per person.
